Aston Martin may replace Mercs V8

The last few recent models from AM have been utilizing powerplants borrowed from AMG. They may however be developing their own powertrain in house, which is rumored to be a hybrid I-6. This will likely use some of the tech that's currently being developed for the Rapid E and may debut in newer models like the DBX or Vantage. I don't know if less or more parts sharing is to Astons benefit. So much of their new cars have been outsourced that there really isn't much heritage left in them. Electrification is looking like the only way forward for super cars.

There's a reason why Pagani still uses a Mercedes derived engine and that's because it works, but they made it their own. AM should retract.

Their main concerns are meeting the more strict emissions regulations with upcoming models. It would be more difficult for them to make any large changes, if they were constrained to just tuning.
